With the close of school and warmer weather it is definitely concert time. I was having trouble keeping my eyes open and couldn't read anymore for fear of passing out in study-hall, so I decided to map some shows this summer and share them. Maybe I'll see you at some.
We'll go in chronological order, so there may be some repeats of the same bands at different venues.
6/7 - moe. - the Saranac Brewery - Utica, NY
6/16 -17 - Dave Matthews Band - SPAC (if you can't get tickets, there is always a killer parking lot scene there)
6/16-18 - Bonaroo Music Festival - Manchester Tennessee (I won't be there, but all power to anyone who can swing it)
6/19 - Bruce Springsteen - SPAC (no E-Street Band, but probably still worth it)
7/2 - Phil Lesh and Friends - SPAC (Mike and Trey from Phish will be opening up)
7/8 - Wainstock - 299 Ferncliff Rd. Mohawk, NY (the biggest party the valley's ever seen - all are invited)
7/9 - Phil Lesh and Friends - Bethel Woods (Bethel, NY) - still with Mike and Trey
7/26 - O.A.R. - High Falls Festival Site (Rochester)
8/6 - John Fogerty and Willie Nelson - SPAC
8/7 - Counting Crows - SPAC (the Goo Goo Dolls will be with them, but they don't deserve equal billing with the Crows)
8/8 - O.A.R. - SPAC
8/13 - Tom Petty and the Allman Bros. Band - SPAC (this isn't one hundred percent confirmed yet, but this may be Petty's last tour. If you only go to one show this summer, this should be it)
8/19 - Crosby Stills Nash AND Young - SPAC (got to go see Young with them)
9/1-3 - moe.down 7 at Snow Ridge in Turnin, NY
Hope that was useful in some way. If SPAC is too far, check the bands' websites; they may have shows closer to you. I just love SPAC.
Have a good'en
-Matt
